Preston Sawyer
Artist Bio:
Preston Sawyer was born in Maryland in the year 1995. Growing up he would spend much of his time either playing video games or doodling. Most of his art is hand drawn. He prefers to draw creatures that could fit in a fantasy world. He is also confident in his ability to fold origami, something he learned during high school.
Artist Statement:
My name is Preston Sawyer. My art for the most part follows a fantasy theme as I often hand draw monsters. I can also create 3D art, in which I prefer to work with cardboard. One of my artistic hobbies would include origami, which I learned on a whim and chose to focus on animal forms. I create these pieces because I want to go into game design as a concept artist. I want to be a game designer because as I grew up, I spent a lot of my free time playing video games. I enjoyed playing video games to the point that I wanted to create the games that I enjoyed so much for others to enjoy as well.
I am aware that creating these fantasy themed art pieces might not directly affect the real world, but they can help influence more than just video games. These pieces could inspire various weapons or monsters in different forms of media other than games, like books of TV shows. These could in turn inspire others to create wholly unique fantasy settings and creatures.
