Preston Sawyer
Artist Bio:
Preston Sawyer was born and raised in Maryland. His primary medium of choice is hand-drawn artwork that are colored in using colored pencils. Most of his drawings fit a fantasy theme and usually depict a monster of some form, although they occasionally will have either a humanoid character or weapons featured. Another medium he occasionally uses is cardboard. For fun and to express creativity he creates many different types of origami.
Artist Statement:
I want to be a concept artist for video games. Most of the things that I draw are monsters. I will also on occasion draw humanoid characters or even weapons, most of which having a fantasy theme. The inspiration that made me want to do this comes from the video games that I have played, namely the Monster Rancher and Pokémon series. These two games focused me to mostly drawing monsters as they both focus on the idea that the monsters are not just enemies that get in the way of your goal.
Just as video games have helped me in the past, I want to work as a concept artist for video games to help others. I want to work in video games that give people that temporary escape from the stress from the real world that they occasionally need, where they can feel important as the hero that will save the world or become a legendary individual.
